We are thrilled to introduce our Team Member Spotlight Series, where we shine a light on the incredible individuals who power number8. Our first featured team member is Raul Ochoa — Brand Ambassador extraordinaire — the driving force behind our nearshore expansion efforts.

Getting to Know Raul: A Conversation

When did you start working for number8?
I recently started this last August 15th, but it already feels like a lifetime.

What do you do at number8?
I am the Brand Ambassador at number8, and part of my role includes event planning and hosting, traveling to designated countries to meet and engage with our consultants. I’m also the boots on the ground for the number8 team, where I can come in, listen to our consultants, and provide proper insight and strategies to improve certain aspects.

Have you had other jobs within the industry?
No, this is my first time working in IT.

What is your latest accomplishment or proudest moment at number8?
My proudest moment at number8 would have to be that within my first month, I was able to use all the feedback I had heard in order to restructure the way we deliver information to our consultants to increase transparency.

What is the most interesting project that you’ve ever been involved with in your role?
When I started, I had to deliver some stuff in a very timely fashion — ‘Mission Impossible’ my associates were calling it. I had to fly to three countries and stop in multiple cities. Needless to say, it was fun to explore but very tiring to fly that much.

What do you like most about your job?
The ability to catalyze change for people who already do so much.

What do you like most about number8?
How welcoming and warm everyone is. It really is a beautiful and kind community.

What 3 words would you use to describe what you do?
Networking, Problem-Solving, Connecting

What 3 words would you use to describe you?
Social, Pensive, Wonderer

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I really enjoy weightlifting and powerlifting, as well as trying out new restaurants.

What is something about you that people (usually) do not know?
Despite being very social and perceived to be extroverted, I very much enjoy equal amounts of alone and quiet time.
